About MarketPlane.ca

MarketPlane.ca is a marketplace for buying and selling aircraft in Canada. Listing is free, there is no commission on a sale, and you do not need an account to browse.

What it is

Aircraft in Canada are sold in a scattered way — a Cherokee turns up under “cars” on Kijiji, a Cub in a Facebook group, a Bonanza on an American site quoting US dollars. Buyers hunt across half a dozen places and still miss things. MarketPlane exists to put Canadian aircraft in one place, described properly: the times, the avionics, the logbook history and the registration, rather than three photographs and a phone number.

There are currently 46 aircraft listed for sale.

The register

Alongside the marketplace, the site carries a searchable copy of the Transport Canada Civil Aircraft Register — the current version, as of September 17, 2026. You can look up any Canadian registration and see what the aircraft is, where it is based and how many of its type are on the register. It covers 1,107 Canadian cities and towns where aircraft are based.

That part is free and always will be. It is public information, and it is more useful searchable than it is as a spreadsheet.

How it makes money

At the moment, it does not. There is no commission, no listing fee and no charge to a buyer. That is a deliberate choice while the marketplace is young: a marketplace with few listings and a fee has neither. If that changes it will be announced plainly on this page, and anything already listed free will stay free.

What it is not is a brokerage. MarketPlane does not take a position in any aircraft, does not represent either side of a sale, and does not get paid when one happens. Buyers and sellers deal with each other directly.

Who runs it

MarketPlane.ca is built and run in Canada by one person. If you email, a person reads it and replies — there is no support queue and no ticket number.
