C-FTSZ is a 1970 Piper PA-28-180 Cherokee 180, serial number 28-5750, based at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (CYTZ). It has been flown as a private recreational partnership and is offered for sale because the group is moving up to an IFR-capable aircraft. This is an honest, well-sorted airplane with paperwork to match. Total time is ~9,700 hours, 1780 SMOH. Airplane is flown regularly. The wing spar inspection has been carried out. Power is the Lycoming O-360-A4A, 180 hp — one of the most durable and best-supported engines in general aviation. At the most recent annual, differential compressions came back 79/80, 78/80, 78/80 and 78/80 across all four cylinders. The left magneto was replaced in October 2024 with an overhauled unit and the 500-hour magneto inspection was complied with at the same time. The propeller was removed at the last annual, sent to Hope Aero Propeller & Components, given its five-year corrosion inspection and reinstalled — done, signed off, and off the next owner's list for five years. The ELT was removed, sent to Vision Avionics for certification and reinstalled at the same time; it is a Kannad 406AF with a remote RC-200 cockpit switch, so the 406 MHz requirement is already satisfied. The most recent annual inspection was completed in May 2026. Airworthiness Directive CF90-03R2 (exhaust-type cabin heater inspection) was carried out with no faults found, and AD 2017-14-04 was completed with no faults found. The airplane carries a useful load of 1,00 lbs against a 2,400 lb max gross, on 50 US gallons total and 48 usable.
